For highly contoured samples this motorised rotary planetary stage with tilt greatly increases specimen coverage. The four sample holders are interchangeable and can be configured to suit most types of specimen stubs or metallurgical mounts. Up to 24 pin type stubs can be coated at one time. The stage includes a smaller height work chamber. This allows the working distance to be changed. The long working distance using the standard 150mm diameter x 150mm high chamber with 0° tilt, can be used for even coating of flat polished microprobe samples, while the short working distance with high tilt is used for topographic samples.
A range of sample holders is available to suit mounts and stubs for many SEM instruments. Four sample holders are supplied with the stage, additional holders are available separately. Holders AGB7222 and AGB7227 are 35mm diameter; the others are 45mm diameter.
The R-P-T stage fits the large chamber Agar coaters: Auto Sputter Coater AGB7341SE, Auto Carbon Coater AGB7367SE, High Resolution Sputter Coater AGB7234, SEM Turbo Carbon Coater AGB7230 and TEM Turbo Carbon Coater AGB7232.
