An inexpensive, miniature vacuum desiccator to warm embedding plastics while removing gas bubbles. The aluminium base is placed on a laboratory heating plate. The vacuum can be drawn through a porthole in the base plate. Suitable for use up to 120°C (248°F), with a digital thermometer to measure plate temperature. Internal dimensions: 153 dia x 76mm high (6" x 3").
The Bell jar is manufactured from soda lime glass, with a Silicone o-ring seal. Also included is a vacuum gauge (showing inches of mercury), a 3-way valve (with positions for pump and vent and neutral where both are sealed), a filtered vent with a 1/2" hose connection to connect vacuum systems with a 1/2" ID vacuum hose and an additional 3/8" hose connection for 3/8" or 1/4" ID hose.
