This series of Silica particle size standards is designed for applications requiring monodisperse inorganic spheres. Like glass, silica has a much higher density than polystyrene and the opaque spheres provide more contrast than polymer particles in optical and electron beams. Calibrated and certified by NIST traceable procedures. These are suitable for a wide variety of particle measuring applications. The spheres have a density of 1.8 - 2.2 g/cm3 and a refractive index of 1.41 - 1.46 @ 589nm wavelength. They are supplied in bottles of 15ml as 2% solids.
