Dr Robert Young works at the School of Optometry and Vision Sciences at Cardiff University.
We sent him a sample of UA-Zero to try, and this was his experience when comparing Uranyl Acetate to UA-Zero…
“I’ve carried out a couple of grid staining runs with our standard saturated aqueous solutions of Uranyl Acetate vs. UA-Zero.
Below are pictures of sclera from a human eye at 20,000x, after 15 minutes stain exposure at room temperature.
The collagen fibril banding pattern is of interest to us in our research and it appears equally clear with both stains – maybe slightly better with UA-Zero!”
